Kody and I also watched the whole Conjuring Universe, he does not like horror movies so the fact he watched them all with me was so much fun!
Well a whole month Canadians have been in quarantine so not much has happened in the month of April. Here are the only things I did that is slightly interesting. For the most part I was working my two jobs and working out a bunch!
Near the beginning of the month Kody and I went on a small walk where for the first time we saw the flowers blooming.
Within the month Kody also thought his hair was growing too long so I cut it on my own which was fun and it actually turned out really well!
We also celebrated Easter this year just the two of us. Usually we spend the day with Kody's family and have dinner with them but since we couldn't this year. We made each other baskets, the one on the left is the basket he made me and the basket on the right is the basket I made him which I will say looks a lot better.
This month I also dyed my hair, I bleached my hair and roots as well as doing an ombre blue at the bottom of my hair which I actually need to touch up on. It took a couple of tries to get right but it was a fun experience.
This month I watched a few TV shows near the beginning I watched Tiger King while it was all the rage. I started re-watching Glee and the IT Crowd which I finished the latter. I was watching the new episodes of Keeping up with the Kardashians.
Kody and I also watched the whole Conjuring Universe, he does not like horror movies so the fact he watched them all with me was so much fun!
This month my friend and I were posting on our Youtube channel more than we have since we started it. We're going to try to post more frequently!
My new favourite song is Glass House by Gabbie Hanna it's such a unique song that I've been singing along with since the day it came out!
March was a very interesting month. It started normal, going to school and work, and being able to hang out with family and friends. In the middle of the month school changed to online, my work places are essential so I am still working, and we cannot leave our houses other than essential purposes.
March 5, my fiance and I went on a walk and saw deer on this walk which was beautiful. We actually went out for dinner that night I believe as one of the last times doing to until everything returns to normal.
This month I've been working out at home which is a huge change for me. I like working with weights in the gym but I don't own any weights at home. I've been shaping my body with just my body and some days are good and others not so much but even just having this everyday really helps me.
This month I was also doing a few Easter inspired colourful makeup looks that will be up on my instagram closer to. I love just playing with makeup, this is another thing that helps keep me calm in the worlds craziness.
Along with working out at home more, I've been trying to eat healthier. Now that eating out isn't an option, my fiance and I are trying to make goof home meals which we've been pretty good at so far. If you have any vegetarian meal ideas leave a comment below! I feel we've been eating the same thing every week.
The shows I watched this month were Love is Blind which I loved! It became very popular in the month so I'm sure plenty of you have seem this as well. The other show I enjoyed was Circle. Although I did like this show, it wasn't as good as Love is Blind in my opinion, it was entertaining and I just couldn't stop watching it but I wasn't as invested into the people in the show.
This month I had to read Shannon Moroney's novel Through the Glass which is about her life. After she meets a man and after they get married he commits an awful crime. It follows the events of being abandoned by the justice system as well as friends and shows/explains the power of restorative justice! I know it was for school but these are the type of books I enjoy reading anyways so I really enjoyed it and recommend it if you are interesting in crime or justice. Just be warned there is some graphic explanations of the crime in this book so it could make some uncomfortable.
I haven't really tried any new products this month, I've just been using the ones I already own but I've really enjoyed Covergirl's Clean Fresh Skin Milk in Porcelain and the Makeup Revolution x Roxxsaurus Colour Burst Palette. I used these in most of my Easter looks and I use the foundation everyday I work at Shoppers and it looks so nice on my skin. I bought it when it came out and I'm already almost out of my first container of it and have a second ready to be opened.
I really like the eyeshadow palette, the only negative thing I have to say is the purples didn't show up very well in the looks I did I tried to build them up so much and they still didn't show that well. All the other colours I've used haven't had this problem so I think it is a great colourful palette for the price!
Next month is exams so I'm going to go and finish all my added assignments for going online and start studying!!
Time for the Spring box! I got it late so I wasn't able to choose what I wanted which kinda sucked because there ended up being a few things I know I won't use and if I was able to choose there was other items I would have loved. I know that's my fault not the company but next season I'll be able to choose so let's get into this!
Opening it up, it always looks so nicely put together and I love the magazine that explains the products in the box as well as the companies.
This first item was one of the ones I wish I could have chosen differently, it's Revive Light Therapy for wrinkles that I do not have yet. I mean it might be nice for the future but I don't like to hold onto things I'm not using as it is a waste of space. It's priced at $68 which if it works that sounds like a pretty good price for it.
The second item again is for wrinkles and lines which I don't have so this I might give to someone that will use it because it will go bad eventually where the product above is a machine so it can't really go bad. It retails for $78.
The next item is interesting to say the least. I've never seen a eye mask like this one before and don't know what to think. The third item is a Gravity Weighted Sleep Mask. I feel like it would slide off my face because I sleep on my side but even if you were on your back wouldn't it be heavy on your eyes? I'm not sure if I'll use this. I'll try it for sure and see how I feel. It retails for $39.99.
The next item is a cute simple Stone Cold Fox Tea Towels that retails for $38. I mean I really like it and think it is cute but I don't think I would ever spend that much money on a tea towel.
The fifth product is AG Hair Care Fast Food Leave-in Conditioner. I'm actually almost out of the one I have so this will be a nice replacement for it! It retails for $24 and I quickly looked at the ingredients and I didn't see any sulphates which is good.
The next item is Whish Blue Matcha Restore Mask. I'm pretty sure this is the brand of the mask I use all the time I got in another box so I'm excited to use this one. It detoxifies and purifies, deeply moisturises, and soothes which is all stuff I enjoy! It retails for $58 so glad I received it in my box because that is not a mask I would buy on my own!
The second last item I think I got in another subscription box before and gave it away because it is very different from what I use. It is Spongelle Body Wash Infused Buffer in Black Orchid. I might try to use this after I finish with my body wash to see how it works but I'm very septic about this product. It retails for $16.
The last item I thought was pretty cool! It's Winky Lux Rainbow Lip Balm which adds a nice colour to your lips. I've already tried it and it feels really smooth and moisturising on my lips and it did give them a nice pinky colour I would wear on a daily basis. The only bad thing is I twisted the tube up to see how much came in the product and it broke. I was able to place it back in and can still use it but I wish it didn't break. It retails for $18 and honestly this is an item I can see myself buying once I finish it.
The box total comes to $339.99 which insane for the price you pay for it! I do have free sample boxes to send to people so if you want one let me know below and I'll contact you! Overall this box was okay, as I said at the beginning if I was able to choose in the selection part of the box they have I probably would have gotten stuff I would have used but I will still use the mask, the leave-in conditioner, the tea towel, the lip balm, and I will try the weighted eye mask as well as the body wash infused buffer. Do you have Fabfitfun? What did you get in your box?
This box I'm not sure what the theme was because my box didn't have a paper in it with the information in it so I had to go onto their website to find prices. The first item was a Becca Cosmetics Ultimate Lip Definer which retails for $22USD. I tried it and the colour payoff was decent. I've defiantly used better lip liner before. I will use it again don't get me wrong but I don't think I would buy another shade on my own.
The next product was an Appeal Ultra Creme Lipstick which is actually a really nice nude shade for everyday. The only complaint I was about this is the packaging. Although it is unique which makes it interesting it can make storing it difficult. It retails for $21 USD.
The third item in the box is a Murad Hydro-Dynamic Ultimate Moisture for eyes that sells for $70. I'm interested to try this because I have very dry eyelids but I also don't want to like it just because it's expensive!!
This next product I'm pretty sure I got in another box because maybe it was a different scent but I remember because I gave it away to a friend since I'm not a fan of cleansing balms. It is the Farmacy- Very Cherry Clean Cleansing Balm. It does say this is a limited edition for Boxycharm so it probably is different but it's still the same concept. It retails for $34 USD.
The last item in the box is from Hank & Henry Living in Color palette which retails for $27 USD. I like the packaging design on the front and the colours inside are nice but not as colourful as I was expecting for the name of the palette to mention colour. The pans for each shade are pretty small and the palette itself is pretty think so I'm not a fan of this. I will try it and if the shades perform well I will keep it but if I don't like it maybe one of my friends will!
The total of this box is $174 USD which is a lot more than what the box costs which happens every month. This box didn't excited as much as they normally do but there is a couple items I am happy with and I'm excited to test out the palette!
There isn't much to post about in my life because of what's happening in the world so I'm going to go back to when I use to post everytime my favourite song changed. I will go back and post all my favourites from the beginning of the year and continue posting it from here on out. Today my favourite song changed to I Love Me by Demi Lovato
February flew by and I feel like I didn't do anything at all! The main things that happened in this month was my first time going to the Costco winter party which was so much fun! I drank a little too much but took so many pictures and danced on the dance floor having a great night!
I also started to get back into fitness this month with the help of guides from home and protein shakes as well as motivation cards. If you want information about it leave an email and I can get you more information!
Later in the month my fiance got a raise at work so to celebrate that him and I went out to a nice dinner together we dressed up to go to. We went to the restaurant we hadn't been to since the night he purposed to me so it was a special night.
Sorry for such a short month update I honestly didn't do much. My favourite products for this month would probably have to be two eyeshadow palettes I would alternate between on a daily basis. This first one is Revolution x Roxi Ride or Die Palette and the Kim Kardashian The Artist & Muse Palette. I highly recommend both of these for daily looks. You probably don't need both so if I had to choose only one I would probably choose the Ride or Die palette because it is cheaper but I do find that The Artist & Muse lasts longer depending what is more important to you!
Yay!! Another box with Boxycharm!
The first item is a three piece brush set from Alamar Cosmetics. It’s a complexion brush, blush brush, and brightening brush. They retail for $36 USD which honestly is really good for brushes. That’s normally the price for one.
The next item is from a brand I’ve never even heard of, Qveen. It’s a matte stain liquid lipstick. It’s a very beautiful colour so I’m going to try it but mattes aren’t my favourite because of how drying some can be. It’s $17 USD which is a normal price for a drug store lipstick.
The next item is from a brand I’ve heard a lot about but have never really tried myself due to how expensive it is. It’s the Kate Somerville Bio-mimicking peptides biominetques serum that’s retails for a whooping $98 USD which is so much!! It’s supposed to help tighten skin which I don’t have a problem with so it won’t even be getting use if I’m being honest.
The next product is a Pretty Vulger mascara. I’ve only ever gotten this brand in past boxycharm boxes but I’ve never been disappointed yet. It retails for $23 USD and it’s a lengthening mascara.
This last item is another item I probably won’t get use of because I don’t use setting powders from how dry my skin is. It’s Ciate London Everyday Vacay Coconut Setting Powder which retails for $22 USD which I feel is average.
Overall I feel like this box had some hit and misses for me. You can never go wrong with more brushes! I also love mascaras because I go through them a lot and it’s good to have backups. The lipstick looks so nice as long as it isn’t drying and as for the other two as stated above probably won’t get used. The entire box price added up to $196 USD which is such a good price for the price you pay monthly.
This year was not off to a good start, New Year’s Day we had to bring our baby boy to the pet hospital where he had to get surgery or he was going to die. We paid with money we didn’t even have so we did start a GoFundMe page so if you are able to donate we would greatly appreciate it!
He is recovered now and doing so well! I’m so incredibly thankful for all the people who did help us by dontating money it did help!
One of my Christmas gifts was Marianas Trench tickets. I asked for them as soon as I saw they were coming to the city my mum lives in so she got a ticket for me, my brother, and herself. I was one of the only people that knew the new music it seemed but I had such an amazing time! He came down my aisle and I got a picture/video with him in it!!
This month I also went out of my comfort zone and did a boudoir shoot for my fiancé as an engagement/Valentine’s Day gift. It was such a great experience and they turned out so beautifully! I went to the Boudior Studio in Windsor they did an amazing job! Their photographer is a published artist getting scouted out by models and magazines. If you live in the area there link is:
If you ar interested leave a comment and I can give you $100 0ff of their products! They go off of your comfort level and take such amazing care of you from the beginning to the end. It includes 2 hours of hair and makeup and 2 hours of shooting. It’s such a confident boost and a great experience for yourself. It would be good for a significant other or just to help yourself with self love!
I watched the second season of Lost in Space this month but honestly I’ve just been busy from work and school it’s already midterm time so I’m so stressed so if I don’t post too much that is why. I will try my best but due to saving for a wedding I’ve cancelled my Boxycharm so I will get it in February and March but then it is done so I’ll have to come up with other things to post about!
My favourite thing this month is music related. I love Louis Tomlinson’s new Album Walls! Also my fiancé and I traded in a lot of our old games and were able to get the Zelda Ocarina of Time record which is amazing!!
